July - August 2009 Chamber Newsletter

Recycling Service Available

We are all aware of the values of recycling and appreciate a convenient opportunity to do our part. L & K Services of Louisburg now offers curbside recycling to city residents and businesses within Louisburg for a small fee. Items that are included are #1 thru #7 plastics, aluminum or steel food and beverage containers, newspapers, office papers, phone books, magazines and cardboard. No glass will be picked up. A container to hold the items is provided. You can contact their office at 837-4637.

County Tourism

A Miami County Visitor Survey is available for tourism businesses in hopes that visitors will complete the survey and that data can be used to promote our local tourism industry. The Chamber office will be contacting those businesses in the near future.

Chamber Bucks

The Chamber office is interested in how many Chamber businesses would like to participate in a Chamber Bucks Program. It is a way to keep shopping dollars in the local economy, advertises your business plus is handy when needing a gift certificate that can be used at one of our local businesses. Retail businesses are best candidates. There is an extra step in a sale, which is getting reimbursed from the Chamber. The last thing we want is for your business to honor a certificate and then forget to get reimbursed by the Chamber office.
Please consider if your business would like to participate and let Patsy in the Chamber office know. We would like to be able to offer Chamber Bucks and would list it as a benefit of being a Chamber member. Bucks can be used as a reward to employees when needed or gifts to family and friends. Fellow members that participate would appreciate the support.
